The most trusted and famous manpower worldwide supplied from Nepal in a large scale for the first time in its history was the GURKHAS as warriors. After Gurkhas, Nepalese started to work as construction workers (mainly labour) in the Gulf countries. In Gulf countries, they have become very popular; Decause they are humble, obedient, not having indulgence with others for the cause of Politics and Religion. This fact became their key to the success-what they cared their works, that's all. Now they are working in almost all parts of the world.

There are many other attractive reasons for using Nepalese labour force. Some of them are described below: Nepal is endued with the lowest cost yet highly productive labour force. The wages of a laborer fundamentally depend on his skill and the standard of living of the country, which he belongs to.

To accelerate the development of manpower for creating to the needs of overseas employers, our Government has set up multipurpose vocational training institutes at many districts. Even, to cope with present demand with the active support of the Government a large numbers of vocational training institutes were set up in the private sector. These institutes impart the necessary foundation orientation course, theoretical and /or practical training helping workers to raise their skills and as such adapting them to the needs of the overseas employers.
